A talk exploring how the Malian manuscripts can help rewrite dominant histories against the backdrop of prevailing Western narratives, as well as the stakes of preservation, the political suppression of collective memory and African knowledge and who holds the right to structure an archive. SVA’s International Student Office calls for submissions of artwork that relates to Hispanic culture or artwork from students with Hispanic backgrounds. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, October 5. Submissions will be displayed in the ISO reception area as part of an exhibition running from Wednesday, October 12, to Wednesday, November 9.
