| | The Creative Process of a Filmmaker | MFA Social Documentary Film faculty member and filmmaker Alan Berliner is the subject of a new seven-part podcast series created by Benita Raphan (BFA 1984 Media Arts) for the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA). SVA Close Up spoke with Raphan about Berliner's work and the series. | | | | NYC Blizzard Watch | SVA is monitoring weather conditions in advance of this weekend's predicted snow. Because it can be difficult to determine the severity of a storm even 24 hours before it arrives, the College may make the determination to close just a few hours in advance. Announcements of weather-related closings are sent to the SVA community via SVAlert, the College's emergency notification system. If you haven't already, please log on to MySVA and confirm that your SVAlert contact information is up to date. SVA also announces unscheduled closings on sva.edu and on the College's main phone line, 212.592.2000. | | | | Saturday: MFA Visual Narrative Information Session | MFA Visual Narrative presents an information session and interactive presentation for prospective students, featuring department chair Nathan Fox, faculty members and students. 3:00 - 5:00pm, 136 West 21st Street, ground floor. | | | | | | Talking Gender Bias in Hollywood | Variety reports on the advice, encouragement and horror stories from Wednesday night's SVA Women Strong panel, hosted by BFA Animation, BFA Film and the Women in the Arts and Media Coalition. | | | | | | Amber Boardman: "Sitcom Studies" | The inaugural solo exhibition of paintings by the MFA Fine Arts alum.
